Testcard F formed in Britain in 1981, and reconstructed and built their own synthesizers throughout their existence. Unlike some synth-punk and minimal wave acts of the time, this band near-completely utilized electronic instruments, drum machines, and backing tapes; the only organic instrumentation appearing in the form of trash cans, coat racks, and other assorted bits of debris.

Dorthy=I confess
Tracklisting
1.I confess
2.softness
Side A was written by Dorothy Prior & Alex Fergusson.
Side B was written by Genesis P-Orridge & Alex Fergusson.
"When 19-year-old Dorothy first walked into the reception of the Industrial Records office, no one was quite sure what to expect. But it only took one play of the tape she’d made with young Scots guitarist Alex Fergusson and our minds were made up – HIT was stamped all over it! These songs may not be what you would expect from our label, but we have never been afraid to do something different if we believe in it. And you can take it from us – Dorothy's got what it takes!" -Tony Graves (from sleeve notes)
